# Installation

Install TITAN Tablet and keep it up to date.

**Download**

Download `ttn-tablet` and `ttn-tablet-props` from [portal.cfx.re](https://portal.cfx.re/) under Assets > Granted Assets. It needs `ttn-bridge`, included with your purchase. `ttn-tablet-props` is the TITAN tablet model; without it players hold the standard GTA tablet.

**Add them to server.cfg**

Start `ttn-bridge` after your framework, then the props, then the tablet.

Keep the folder name `ttn-tablet`. Other resources and custom apps use this name to reach the tablet.

**Add the tablet item**

Players need a `tablet` item to use the tablet. To use a different item, change `Config.Item`.

QBCore already has a `tablet` item. Set `useable` to `true` so players can open it from the inventory.

**Set up media storage**

Photos and clips are uploaded to Fivemanage or Discord. Pick one in `Config.Media.Storage` and add its key, as described in [Camera and media](https://grp-development.gitbook.io/titan-scripts/resources/titan-tablet/configuration/camera-and-media).

**Restart the server**

TITAN Tablet creates and updates its database tables on start, so there is no SQL file to import. Use the tablet item, or type `/tablet` while you carry one.

#### How to update

**Back up your settings**

Copy `shared/config.lua`, `shared/penal.lua` and `server/api.lua` somewhere safe.

**Replace the resource**

Delete the old `ttn-tablet` folder and put the new one in its place. Do the same for `ttn-tablet-props` when it changed.

**Apply your settings again**

Copy your values into the new `shared/config.lua`, your penal code into the new `shared/penal.lua` and your keys into the new `server/api.lua`.

Don't paste your old config file over the new one. Updates can add settings, and a missing setting falls back to its default.

**Restart the server**

Database changes that come with an update are applied on start. A new tablet model needs a reconnect as well.
